The 523C can be deployed as a wireless mesh, access point, client (client-bridge), or bridge. The 523C is in a weatherproof IP 67 enclosure for outdoor use. Each unit supports 802.11a 5 GHz and 802.11b/g 2.4GHz in all modes with up to 54Mbps throughput, plus Turbo A and Super G for higher throughput of 108 Mbps.

The 802.11a wireless mode takes advantage of lower interference. 802.11h DFS and TPC protocols are supported, permitting 1W EiRP transmission in some regions such as the EU for greater range. The greater range makes the 523C an excellent device for use as CPEs in low density user environments, such as WISP used in rural or semi-rural areas.

For secure communications, the 523C offers a choice of WEP, WPA, or WPA2-802.11i with 128 AES encryption in AP and client modes. Bridge mode has proprietary AES-based encryption. The 523c also defect rogue APs and notify you by mail to further protect your from unauthorized access.

The device comes with 5 dBi tri-band detachable antenna for quick deployment. Management is easy with GUI web interface which allows you to add users to and remove users from the system. Finally, you have full use of power-over-Ethernet, saving the time and power line cable.
